Hmm.... AOSP ICS 4.0.4, so interesting to try.I am really glad having this device Samsung Galaxy Gio because is there so many custom roms option for me to try. even this device don't have official release Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 but we still can taste it, for more advanced there is Jelly Bean custom roms see how this device have so many custom roms options.
Today i wanna review newest release from maclaw studio, cause i heard they release is so light and bug less compare the other ICS 4.0.4 roms release.

Gps look does not work, i am trying with News & Weather Application but it not show my area and tell me to set my location manually. Automatic Time Zone not work either if i tick that option Select Time Zone field will become GMT+00:00

so light and not consume too much memory on running, you still have 112 Mb on your internal storage to install your applications or you can help it using link2sd, yes link2sd work i has been trying it good to help you internal storage.

many language option, there is arabic, chinese, dutch, latvia, etc so there is change for you to install it with your fave language. Camera can capture object with fine all function seem to be work unless video recording, you must using 3rd party application.
Plus Minus
After tried this magnificent ROM about 2 days, i has self assessment :- you can take screenshots by pressing and hold power button + volume down button (+1)
- very clean on logcat (+1)
- very smooth and light, not feel lags at all (+1)
- cannot change launcher setting, must using 3rd party launcher (-1)
- don't have default file explorer so you cannot install apk from your sdcard (-1)
- gps, location service and automatic time zone does not work (-1)
How to Install
- Download full_gio-ota-eng.beta3.zip and put in your sdcard root
- You must use special cwm for this one, download it from here and install it first.
- Reboot your device and go to recovery mode, press power button + home button
- On recovery mode
- go to Mount and Storage
- select format /system, format /data and format /cache
- back to main menu and select install zip from sdcard, select choose zip from sdcard and navigate to file full_gio-ota-eng.beta3.zip
- after finish install, back to main menu again and select wipe data / factory reset
- reboot and try to log at home screen
- after on home screen reboot your phone once again.
- This installation include google play on packgae so you will not need to install gapps anymore.
- Finish now you can enjoy Beta 3 AOSP ICS 4.0.4, if you wanna use link2sd install it first before you install another applications.
